Friend?

The whole world seems to be living with a blurry definition of friendship. Knowing someone for a long time doesn't really make them a friend. There are associations we make in various stages of life. There are acquaintances. Loads of em. People you know, 'just know'! But how well? How deep? And how truly? It's popularly said that people come into your life for a reason, a season or a lifetime....

Irrespective of the phase of life you are in, the most important thing is keeping that person involved and informed about the important happenings in your life, however busy you get. It's crazy seeing everyone calling everyone a friend these days. I often feel sad about the illusion in which people live in....

  • I know my neighbor since 18 years, I can in no way call the lady my friend.
  • You attend grad school with so many people. How on earth can you call all of them your friends? Does their posting "Happy Birthday!" once in a year on your Facebook wall make them your friend? :-O

It's not about approving or rejecting people. It's more about the people you really connect with and wanna associate yourself with. Not everyone that comes in your life should be a friend nor will be worthy of being one! One true friend is enough for life... in all probability you'll living in different states...or even worse... different countries.... distance never is a barrier with such close friends..!!! :)

Everyone is not a friend, neither an enemy, many frenemies though ;) but that one person who becomes a true friend becomes nothing less than family! So quit calling everyone a friend because they really ain't :-P :-P

Chennai Express (2013) - Review

The King of Romance is not the King of Comedy but it was a not an attempt that has gone in vain! For some, Deepika's good looks might have compensated for horrible Tamil accent!  Nevertheless, the film having the Ready Steady Po tag line takes off at a steady pace. The film is funny at most places, lame at a few instances. SRKs dialogue delivery & acting can never be questioned. He is the King Khan!!!! The songs are fun, vibrant and colorful with a Tamilian touch which is pleasant to the ear.

Given the script, I think the characters have done their bit! Chennai Express, atleast for SRK Fans is definitely a watch... Because, we love the man for what he is  It was nice seeing some well known actors from the Tamil Film Industry. Moreover, having an upper hand of understanding the Tamil in the film made my movie viewing experience more enjoyable!

Go for it, guys!!! Enjoy the ride!!!!

A Literary Refugee

I am your Master
You!... not my Slave!!

I enlighten your mind and
nourish your soul

Having burried your fears aside
You come to Me
Take refuge in Me
All you want is to break-free
From what IS

You crave for more....
....I give you more

You smile :)
Thereby making me happy

Let me import you to my world
that is Surreal
Let's travel together
Whilst our spines,
are wound to one another

For it is NOT you
Who has chosen me

Certainly, it is
Me who has Chosen You

Hi; Hi | Hru; Gud. U? | Gud. Ttyl | Bye

In the good old days keeping in contact demanded a lot of effort because of the modes of communication that existed; writing letters, post cards and then going to the post office buying stamps and posting them, making calls from a phone booth... Long distance communication took effort. And, people were willing to go an extra mile (literally) for it! :)

But these days in-spite of having so many modes of communication, the whole process doesn't seem to have substance... the content is really crap... it isn't serving any purpose. On a single click (rather touch ;)) we can make a call...send a sms... and now most of us use applications like WhatsApp which is a great tool for being in contact... We send Emails, use Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn etc. The internet has really been a boon to all of us. But still the quality of communication has decreased. Grammatically incorrect English is being used. There are brief conversations with actually no content. Example- the title of the post. :-P which is the sole motivation for me to write this post. That's the kinda conversations people have these days.

The main reason for this I think is the surplus availability of modes of communication and the over-availability of people in these places. Always online. Ready to chat. But about what? Nothing. And then, to top everything these days we can even find out when the person was last online. This is total invasion of these modes on our privacy. :-P

On a concluding note, I just want to say that I hope that even if people talk once in a while its fine but they should have something substantial to talk about and share rather than giving replies like "good"/ "fine"/"ok" for every question!

Go ahead guys and let me see you have a real conversation! ;-)
