OMG, I'm so RETRO!

Seeing all these sitcoms is the best way to kill time during your graduation course! Well, now that now-a-days EVERYONE does engineering* (yep, heard that from many…. *tell me that they are not jealous* :P :P) and anyways you don’t have much to do in engineering right?… just a few subjects which look like foreign languages even though the medium of instruction is English :P with a lotta those Greek symbols and calculus everywhere [trust me, it’s everywhere, even in theory subjects :P :P ] and square roots and cube roots and beautiful coefficients, the alpha, beta, gamma, delta….look!!! they even rhyme…so easy to remember :P :P and some crappy formulae which look like macaroni noodles :P So, no big deal, you anyway have all the time in the world one day before the exam to mug and cram and understand ;) and anyways you might forget whatever you study if you prepare way before, even though your mom keeps tellin ya to study regularly, you don’t!!! :P

Anyways, your life, your rules right? Who’s listening anyway? Neither at home, neither in class :P [Hello, back-benchers… what’s cooking? :P ] Considering the current busy schedule of our youngsters (busy whiling away time seeing movies, head banging :P going to pubs, getting tattoos done, smoking, drinking, spending quality time with their temporary relationships [ ….duh!! ], drugs anyone? Video games? Industrial Visits [ Haha…we know what you actually do there :P ], Seminars and Library [ You just want good-DAYS sleep in the AC don’t you, big fella :P ] Learning the best things in life at the peak time of growth and development….you can add more…anything other than studies :P ] No wonder, these people call college the best days of their life! ;)

On a serious note, the amount of time they spend on the internet and seeing sitcoms is crazy…I realized that all this that they are doing is for their own good! :P :P You know how?! :P Well everyone dreams about doing an MS after B.Tech, so these sitcoms help you learn the American culture [hahhaa…America and culture? Tell me about it! ;) :P {Do you know Indian culture, bdw}]…LOL!

A pal of mine told me that you learn a lot from these sitcoms… So, I started seeing some of them!!! To find out what important knowledge I was missing out on!! :P :P I din wanna feel left- out, but ofcourse I was soooo000 happy to see my peers developing so fast :P :P

So watcha learn?

1) 10 easy steps to be a Casanova?

2) Tricks to pick up a girl [only a hot girl] at the bar- and then- forget her the next day? :P [ Go get ‘em, tiger! :P ]

3) How to be kewl?[ No..no…no no no no…not the Indian Cool…the American Kewl, broda :P ]

4) How to fake the American accent to pick up chicks? :P

5) How to do possibly everything you shouldn’t be doing? And calling doing all this “awesome-ness”/ “crazy shit” dudeeeeeee!
Hahahaaaa!

How did I forget?!!

6) The most important thing you learn is the slang!! Yep, bitches you heard me right!! [Now, that does sound kewl right :-/ :P – FYI, it sounds cool, not good :P and I’m grading you for your goodness not your coolness :P, Who's bothered about grading?, you don't care anyways!! :P ]

7) And then you flaunt your precious knowledge in India with your Indian friends, teach them new stuff, peer –tutoring! Ah! What love!

The dream of being the Indian- Version- Of- Barney- Stinson when you get into an MS programme…OH!!!! but you almost forgot…. The Americans might just see you as another Rajesh Koothrappali, keep the alcohol ready to get started :P :P And here, all the while you were tryin so damn hard to be the person who when is sad, stops being sad and feels awesome :P  What actually happens is that when you go there you find all the girls [even the non-Hot ones] taken :P :P All this while you were grooming yourself for the Amreeeeeecaa nonsense :P you forgot to revise the 5866 Barron's words you needed to learn to actually get in there!!...Hmmm…Looks like you went wrong somewhere :P GO FIGURE!!!!!!

Jar of Hearts

Music washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life. It's an outburst of the soul. The medicine of the breaking heart. It's love in search of a word. I came across this song called "Jar of Hearts" sung by Christina Perri. After a long time, a composition which promises good lyrics, great music and a bold voice to portray lovely emotions. It goes like this:

I know I can't take one more step towards you
Cause all that's waiting is regret
And don't you know I'm not your ghost anymore?
You lost the love I loved the most

I learned to live, half-alive
And now you want me one more time

And who do you think you are?
Runnin' 'round leaving scars
Collecting your jar of hearts
And tearing love apart

You're gonna catch a cold
From the ice inside your soul
So don't come back for me
Who do you think you are?

I hear you're asking all around
If I am anywhere to be found
I have grown too strong
To ever fall back in your arms

I learned to live, half-alive
And now you want me one more time

And who do you think you are?
Runnin' 'round leaving scars
Collecting your jar of hearts
And tearing love apart

You're gonna catch a cold
From the ice inside your soul
So don't come back for me
Who do you think you are?

Dear, it took so long
Just to feel alright
Remember how to put back
The light in my eyes

I wish I had missed
The first time that we kissed
'Cause you broke all your promises
And now you're back you don't get to get me back

And who do you think you are?
Runnin' 'round leaving scars
Collecting your jar of hearts
And tearing love apart

You're gonna catch a cold
From the ice inside your soul
So don't come back for me
Don't come back at all.

Who do you think you are?
Who do you think you are?
Who do you think you are?

Apna Sapna Money Money ?!?

Do you love the smell of money? ;-)

Those bits of paper(imagine- green :-P) which hold so much value…Those bits of paper that make people’s life and break people’s life. Once a person is bitten by the bug of earning money, he puts everything else he has in his life at stake for earning it.

Greed. Hmph. It’s a diseased state, feeling greedy. You just want more and more……and more….little more…..I’m not done yet….and SOME more. The thirst never quenches.  NEVER! ;-) Make money your God and it will plague you like the devil!

Unfortunately, people don’t realize that having money is not everything in life. Yes, it can buy you almost everything (materialistic) and well if that’s what matters to you, then congratulations! You hit the jackpot! Bingo! LOL!

Okay, here’s a question for you money-minded people!
“If money really grew on trees ;-) How many saplings would you plant??” ;-)
As many as you can? :-P :-P
Money begets money!!!

Money can buy you a house, but not a home.
Money can buy you a bed, but not sleep.
Money can buy you a clock, but not time.
Money can buy you a book, but not knowledge.
Money can buy you a position, but not respect.
Money can buy you medicine, but not health.
Money can buy you blood, but not life.
Money can buy you sex, but not love.

So, if the former is what matters to you then money is really gonna be the driving force of your life! (Sheesh :-/) And if the latter is what matters, then “Hey! We are sailing on the same boat!” ;-)

There are people who have money and people who are rich.- Gabrielle 'Coco' Chanel

Here, I’m reminded of this dialogue from a Hindi film, “Mere paas paisa hai, bunglow hai, gaadi hai. Tumhaare paas kya hai?”. “Mere paas Maa hai!!!” :-D

Just think about it, your dad or mom or both have to work and slog for a month to earn that salary and what you do is just blow it up in a minute. For one, I hate the people who “use” their parents’ as ATM machines/ People who remember parents when they run outta money! Disgusting! And I personally know many who do that. You might understand that what it takes is- 30 days in office- 9 to 6 everyday- of hard work- overtime- travelling to and fro to that place by shitty transportation- for getting that sum at the beginning of the next month. Phew!

On the other hand, I hate people who are misers as much as I hate people who are extravagant! C’mon! Can’t you strike a balance?!! :-O No wonder it is said- The World- Ingredients: Mostly idiots! :-P Well it is also said that the only way not to think about money is to have a great deal of it! :-P

Who is rich? He that is content. Who is that? Nobody.- Benjamin Franklin

Also, as it is important to have sufficient money, what is also important is to make sure that you earn money by fair means.

So ask yourself this question, "What really matters, money or ......??" ;-) Coz the more you chase money, the harder it is to catch it!

God Won't Ask You

Disclaimer: I came across the following points recently and I felt it's worth sharing.

Fifteen Things God Won’t Ask
1. God won’t ask what kind of car you drove, but will ask how many people you drove who
didn’t have transportation.
2. God won’t ask the square footage of your house, but will ask how many people you welcomed into your home.
3. God won’t ask about the fancy clothes you had in your closet, but will ask how many of those clothes helped the needy.
4. God won’t ask about your social status, but will ask what kind of class you displayed.
5. God won’t ask how many material possessions you had, but will ask if they dictated your life.
6. God won’t ask what your highest salary was, but will ask if you compromised your character to obtain that salary.
7. God won’t ask how much overtime you worked, but will ask if you worked overtime for your family and loved ones.
8. God won’t ask how many promotions you received, but will ask how you promoted others.
9. God won’t ask what your job title was, but will ask if you performed your job to the best of your ability.
10. God won’t ask what you did to help yourself, but will ask what you did to help others.
11. God won’t ask how many friends you had, but will ask how many people to whom you were a true friend.
12. God won’t ask what you did to protect your rights, but will ask what you did to protect the rights of others.
13. God won’t ask in what neighbourhood you lived, but will ask how you treated your neighbours.
14. God won’t ask about the colour of your skin, but will ask about the content of your character.
15. God won’t ask how many times your deeds matched your words, but will ask how many times they didn’t.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My Father once told me, "Remember two things in life: Always be answerable to: One, God and the second, Your conscience". And I follow that with my heart and soul. We believe in God. We are answerable to him and ourselves, not anybody else. His presence, His guidance, HE HIMSELF is our biggest strength. It keeps us going. So the next time you are about to do something you shouldn't, think again, SOMEONE's watching! ;-) ;-)

I won't MOVE ON!!!

Everyone talks about 'moving on' in life!
I will never.... move on!! ;-)
Never!!!
You think it's easy?
Forgetting people?...Just like that?
It's impossible!

You think you can forget people if you stop talking to them?
You think distance helps separation?
.
.
.
Nope!

We meet so many people in life. Strangers become acquaintances.
Lemme define an acquaintance- A school-mate/ a college-mate/ an office colleague/ a neighbor etc. In lay man's language- The Hi! Bye! people. Some of them become friends, and a very few, become friends-for-life!

We 'invest' a lotta time in some people, the people we like- the people we love. The sad thing is that ultimately all this fades away with time.  People just forget the good times they've had together and stop valuing 'it' after the direct association is over. What I don't understand is that why people love moving on in life!?? Is it for selfish reasons? Temporary associations? A master plan eh?

We have 3 major phases in life. School-life, College-life and Work-life. And in every phase we make new friends, but that doesn't mean you forget the old ones. Coz from every phase, from a  million people, only one or two become the closest. And if you don't even maintain a good relationship with 'them', you are an utter failure in life in this aspect. The evergreen old friends- Ah! Some friends are forever. But if there is no acknowledgement of the fact from both sides, the friendship derails. It does.

[Personally, I don't think one-sided-friendships are successful. After-all, we are also human. We are social- animals. One person cannot keep initiating everything every damn time. One definitely gets tired, how much ever they love their friends. I don't like people who take their friends for granted. One should not. If you cannot take out a few minutes from your life in a week or a month or a year!!!!!! for your loved one, then just question yourself, what kind of a life are you living???

Having the belief that he/ she is doing fine wherever he/she is, is okay, but what are you losing in making sure that it is so? What does it take? An sms? A call? An FB message for God sakes!!!!!!!!! Gosh! Know your priorities! :-/]

Moving on is as good as moving away! :-(

Schooling over! Friendship over!
College over! Friendship over!
People have got it totally wrong! :-/ What I don't like is that, when one of these phases get over, people just disappear! And that's it?!?

A true friend feels twice the happiness and thrice the sorrow we feel. But a true friend is like a diamond- precious and rare.

To all my best friends out there: This post is for you- I don't need to take names- Coz you know the place you hold in my life and in my heart and all I wanna say is, "Of all the door’s I have gone through in life, none was more inviting, welcoming and heart-filled than the one that led me to you."

I won't move on, unless you force me to! :-|

[Filmy ho jaayega, but here it goes, "Hum hai raahi pyaar ke, phir milenge chalte chalte!"]
