Every now and then we all go through what they call an 'identity crisis'!
Is it our nativity, personality, qualification, relationships or interests that defines us?
If so, won't that be a limitation, after all?
Despite of countless hours of pondering on the same, I fail to associate myself to one category, as I'm many things in one. We all are! I have many roles to play. It is a mere role after all, why should just a role define me?
Perhaps, I am nobody.
And then I think, why do I need to define myself? Who asked for it and why do I owe anybody an answer. The answer lies within me and it is for me to know.
The truth is, I can be anybody I want to, as I have that infinite capacity of being so. We set our boundaries. We set limitations. We play many roles in this life of ours, they all are passing phases. What remains is 'you'. That constant thing makes you see and observe these things, and that introspects. But wait, this is the mind, isn't it? So what are you, the mind?
What is the body for then? Just flesh and bones?
This thinking goes on and on...
The fact is, it is for you to chose... be anything you want to be...
ANYTHING.
"God, you think, God you are! Dust, you think, dust you are!"
So watch your thoughts! It's your life, let it be your call!
Hi,
ReplyDeleteThe above is a well written piece. However, I am anxiously looking for my school friend named Divya Mohan. Please could you confirm if your Divya Mohan from Our Own English High School - Dubai ? Awaiting your reply on this same platform.
Hi, Thank you! No, that's not me! Good luck with your search!
DeleteNicely written divs :-)
ReplyDeleteIdentity crisis happens due to insecurity and lack of confidence. If you are good at loving yourself then there will never arise a question like Who am I?
You know divs how much I love to be a controlled narcissist ;-);-)
Vishwas, thats a nice word you've coined there "controlled narcissist"! :-D and yeah that's absolutely true, confidence is a must and so is not feeling insecure, but at times despite being so; due to the monotonous routine we kind of get into an unbreakable pattern which sometimes makes us introspect these things! Well said, thanks for the comment, appreciate it! Cheers buddy!
