Different religions have different beliefs regarding several aspects. I've always been keen about acquiring knowledge on these matters and have often had many philosophical discussions with people from other Religions. It is their religion that is Supreme and their Lord who is all-encompassing! ;) The beauty I believe lies in the art of entertaining these thoughts without being affected by it (one of my favorite quotes of Aristotle). Only then we can really come to accept what is going on with others. For it is the wise, who discuss ideas. Well, they seem to be right from their point of view. Don't they always? ;) We might know a bit more about our Religion. The vastness perhaps. But a common man might just know other people by their religion; Christian or a Muslim etc. But not the complexity that lies within their Religion.
Christianity for example, has so many sub-sects. Not just Catholics and Protestants. Even in Catholics and Protestants there are several sub-divisions. There are Jehovah's Witnesses too. They have entirely different interpretations of the Bible. I really feel amazed by this fact, a different interpretation of the Bible has led to the sub-division of a Religion!!!! That's really huge! Some believe in having a mediator to reach God(?). Some don't. Some pray to Jesus. Some don't, for he is the Son of God and not God, who is actually Jehovah(?). JW's don't believe in pagan practices like idol worship, wearing the cross etc. unlike the other Christians. People live in their own bubble following their set of beliefs, which is good (harmless). But if you get talking with each one of them with an open mind, each one of them would seem reasonable about their belief. Pretty convincing, aren't they? ;)
I think its good to be involved with the Divine for personal gratification, but why question others' and try proving it wrong? This is where problems begin. It's always good to be involved in these spiritual affairs as it keeps us occupied in what is considered good and also keeps us from indulging in atleast what that religion calls forbidden.
Just as a candle cannot burn without fire, men cannot live without a spiritual life.- Buddha
Humanity- the quality of being humane. Traits like compassion, generosity, sympathy, kindness, brotherly-love are encouraged and inculcated in all religions. If everybody just accepts other religions the way they are instead of trying to show their own religion as superior, there would definitely be more of world peace!
I love you when you bow in your mosque, kneel in your temple, pray in your church. For you and I are sons of one religion, and it is the spirit.- Khalil Gibran
I think it's the best to believe/ follow what your religion is following, because there is a good reason why you are meant to be a part of that bandwagon! ;)
It's all about you and your relationship with God. :)
Stay awesome. Spread Peace! \m/
